Every new day is a new miracle.
A lifelong draughtsman, Serge was accompanied and initiated by his Catalan uncle, a painter and draughtsman. His stays in Barcelona lulled him into an artistic environment that encouraged him to make a living from his passion. After graduating from the Beaux-Arts, he began his professional life designing for textile workshops in Lyon. Accidentally", he says, he opted for a career as an art director in advertising. From then on, he devoted himself entirely to painting and drawing, exhibiting in France and especially in Corsica, his native land.
Nostalgic for a joyful, carefree era, in love with the sea because he sails, Serge is inspired by images and snapshots that tell him beautiful stories. Stories that act as mirrors of idealized lives, reflections of gentle, peaceful years far removed from the torments of everyday life. His inspirations are manifold, but include Joachin Sorolla, Lucian Freud and David Hockney. His main technique is acrylic, which he applies to surfaces previously painted red to enhance his colors.
